I am a self-taught artist specializing in abstract paintings. Abstract art has many definitions but is generally considered the aesthetic use of:
- form,
- texture,
- and color to depict a subject rather than a "realistic duplication".
Through this medium I am able to convey feelings and thoughts about my life's experiences and the world in which we live. I was born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria and spent my young adulthood raising a family and immigrating to North America . I had little time during this phase of my life to develop my artistic interests, yet I remained enthralled in abstract design and abstract art. In Canada, I met several artists who also emigrated from Eastern Europe, observing their techniques and accumulating ideas for my own work. My paintings are inspired by a perspective of having experienced two very different societies. Abstract painting is my voice to speak about the common points and contrasting situations I have experienced. Equally important, is my love of decoration where I find abstract art to coincide with the style of today's world. I hope you enjoy my paintings and encourage you to share your views of art with me.
